Monster Squad: The Iron Gollem, wins the 2015 eLit Gold Award.
Seattle, Washington, May 11, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Monster Squad: The Iron Golem, the debut novel by author Christian Page, has won the 2015 eLit Gold Award for Children's Books (All Ages).
The novel is the first entry in a planned series of four Monster Squad books, with the second – Monster Squad: Jekyll & Hyde – set for release in Spring 2015. Published by New Generation Publishing in November 2014, Monster Squad: The Iron Golem is available in paperback and e-book format, and was also named New Generation Publishing's 2014 Children's Book of the Year.
Based around the adventures of Blaine, Dash, Shelley, and Drake – AKA the Monster Squad, four brave high-school kids – the novel sees them discover their own fantastic powers, encounter a deranged scientist (Victor von Frankenstein) looking to experiment on them, and meet the titular Iron Golem. Will they be able to save their sleepy town of Autumn's Hollow?
"Receiving the eLit award is a huge honor, and it's great to be featured among so many other talented writers across all genres, so I'm very grateful."
Written for young adults and mid-grade readers, Christian Page's novel was selected by eLit as one of 2015's top children's books for all ages. Now in its sixth year, the annual eLit Awards is dedicated to recognizing and honoring high-quality English-language entertainment published digitally. With critics also recommending the book for fans of such popular authors as Neil Gaiman and Trenton Lee Stewart, Page's series has certainly enjoyed a warm reception.
Christian Page has numerous appearances lined up in his tour to promote Monster Squad: The Iron Golem, during which he will provide readings and signings. His tour has taken him to some of Seattle's most beloved book stores, and he will next be in Tacoma, Washington.
“Receiving the eLit award is a huge honor, and it's great to be featured among so many other talented writers across all genres, so I'm very grateful,” said Christian Page. “I love stories which blend fun, action, and adventure, and Monster Squad: The Iron Golem has plenty of all three! I'm a big fan of classic characters from the world of horror entertainment, and I wanted to find a way to introduce them to today's young readers. I can't wait to have some fun with Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde in the next Monster Squad adventure.”
